The situation in the Middle East is becoming increasingly serious. As a result of these developments, the Lufthansa Group, which also includes Austrian Airlines, has announced that it will temporarily suspend all flights to Tel Aviv, Tehran and Beirut.
According to the airline's announcement, all flights to Israel will be suspended until November 25 and to Iran until November 30, 2024. Flight connections to Lebanon are suspended until February 28, 2025. Flights to Erbil in northern Iraq and the Jordanian capital Amman, however, will remain in place.
The reason for this measure is the latest escalation in the Middle East. On Saturday, Israel fired on Iranian military targets. Iranian commander Hossein Salami then announced harsh and unimaginable consequences.
