Air India cancels direct flights between Vienna and Delhi
Air India is suspending its direct flight connection between Vienna and Delhi. Although the airline describes the suspension as temporary, no flights are available to book until summer 2027. Affected passengers are apparently only being offered a refund.

Edinburgh introduces tourist tax
As of 24 July 2026, Edinburgh has become the first city in Scotland to introduce a tourist tax. Visitors staying in hotels, bed and breakfasts and holiday rentals now pay an additional five percent on their accommodation costs. The tax applies to a maximum of five nights per stay.

Another strike at Lufthansa!
The next pilot strike at Lufthansa is once again causing chaos in air travel. The union Vereinigung Cockpit has called on more than 5,000 pilots to a 48-hour work stoppage on Thursday and Friday. Numerous flights from German airports are expected to be canceled. For travelers, the strike comes at an especially inconvenient time, as international air traffic is already under heavy pressure due to the tense situation in the Middle East.
