Austrian Airlines has announced that it will suspend all flights to Tel Aviv until August 8. This decision was made due to the increasingly tense security situation in the Middle East. The airline said that it is continuously monitoring the situation and adapting the measures according to the security assessments.
On Thursday evening, an Austrian Airlines plane that had already taken off on its way to Tel Aviv had to turn around due to the heightened security situation over the Mediterranean. The plane landed in Bulgaria to refuel before finally returning to Vienna. This incident underlines the serious threat situation that currently exists in the Middle East.
The parent company Lufthansa has also cancelled all flights to Tel Aviv as a precautionary measure.
In addition to Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa, other international airlines have also adjusted their flight schedules. These measures reflect concerns about the volatile security situation in the region and the need to ensure the safety of travelers.
