The Indonesian volcano Lewotobi erupted on the island of Flores on November 3, 2024, but the effects of the eruption are now also being felt on the popular holiday island of Bali.
Since the eruption, the Lewotobi Laki-Laki volcano has been spewing ash clouds into the air, which are now affecting air traffic in Bali. Many airlines have had to cancel their flights to Denpasar in Bali, which is causing considerable chaos. Ash rain has also been reported in the region, which is putting additional strain on many travelers' holidays. Initially, just over 30 flight cancellations were known in Bali, but a further increase in cancellations is expected. The Australian airline Jetstar has also expressed concerns about the safety of air traffic to and from Bali.
