The Faroe Islands with its 18 islands and the capital Torshavn belong to the Kingdom of Denmark. The islands are located in the North Atlantic between Iceland, Scotland and Norway. 17 of the 18 islands are permanently inhabited. The Faroese, as the islanders are known, are known for their hospitality.

RECOMMENDED HIGHLIGHTS:

Sorvagur - Gasadalur (most famous waterfall) - Torshavn - Runavik - Klaksvik - Kunoy - Gjogv - Tjornuvik - Saksun - Suduroy

TRIPPLANNER TIP:

Explore the islands with a rental car. We recommend taking the ferry to Suduroy and driving there to the southernmost point of the Faroe Islands - Akraberg. Here is a lighthouse that marks the southernmost end of the Faroe Islands.

In addition, the breeding spectacle of the puffins takes place on the island of Mykines from May to August. Danger! At this time there is a lot going on in the Faroe Islands. Outside the breeding season it is very quiet and tranquil on the islands.
